First Budget of 2008 revealed

The Chancellor, Alistair Darling, announced his plans for the Budget.

The first Budget of 2008, and the first budget of our new Chancellor of the Exchequer, has had to take into account the tricky financial market we are experiencing.

The mortgage and property market is unsettled and we are starting to experience higher living costs as food, fuel and energy bills rise.

Now I always find it a bit hard to figure out if we will actually be better or worse off when reading the official budget plan, but here is a much simpler interpretation.
