Whether it makes the house buying and selling process easier, or maybe it just adds a bit of appeal by creating some change to the proceedings, Open House is starting to catch on in the UK.
Originally from the United States, where it is the usual way of getting viewers to inspect your property, it is now starting to take off with some estate agents here.
Basically it’s like an open day, where you open up your front doors for the day so that potential buyers can nosy round your house without any of the time constraints or pressure of usual viewings.
Hamptons have been doing it for a while already, but now Foxtons are joining in too. With the housing market slowing down, this may be just what the doctor ordered.
